Restoration of Stairs as seen before the "Fun with Objects" update

With the Fun with Objects (part 1) update, a lot of new stairs were introduced, and old ones got reworked to match the new heights required by multi-level walls. However, the ability to manipulate them like any other object is no longer a feature within Dungeon Alchemist, and that is a problem.

Until now whenever you needed to make a shorter stair, you simply sank one into the ground a bit, maybe changed its size, or stacked half an extra stair by merging it with collisions turned off, among other manipulations such as off grid angles, merged with the environment, or used in completely different ways such alternative roofing.
All of these options are now off the table, limiting the usability of stairs massively, some would say in a catastrophic way. The added pictures are examples of things that could be done before but now are either impossible to do, or doable with many compromises and more work than it would've taken previously.

With that said, and no knowledge of why this ability to manipulate stairs was completely removed, here's a few suggestions on how it could be restored and keep it simplified on the user's end.

  • Simply disable the "new stair" behavior if collisions are turned off.

  • Add a little UI element, maybe a stair with an up/down arrow that toggles the "free standing" behavior on and off.

  • The not so simplified one: let the "new stairs" have their own menu by the roofing and floor menus on the left panel, as they are part of the multi-level mechanics and affect the things around them, and all "free standing stairs" in the object menu behave as simple objects.
