Adding Text to objects

Hey, it would be great to have option to add editable text placeholder to objects in 3D view. It could be in the form of label just like in 2D Overlay view.

Or the ability to add an editable note to an object which, for example, would show up as a pop-up after interacting with the object in cinematic mode.

Why?
Because currently custom text can be added only as a uploaded image. With a larger number of texts it becomes cumbersome and time-consuming.
