ESC to deselect current tool

Currently the ESC key prompts the user to exit the DA application. I'm not sure why that would be useful, especially given standard OS key bindings for exiting an application (CMD-Q on Mac, for example.) Instead, ESC should simply deselect the currently selected tool/action, canceling placement or editing, etc., and allowing the cursor to return to the default.
