Fog of (Not) War
I just had a good idea, but I don't know how feasible it is: a "Fog of War" setting so you can share your screen in games and use the animated, 3D map as a kind of guide for non-combat situations. For instance, if you want to show off a house to the party, but want it to be kept a secret until the reveal. The way this worked in my head is, it blurs walled rooms, until doors are opened to that room. This could also work in conjunction with roofing, using that to mask the rooms if it's a top floor.
This came to me while I was showing off a building the party had made in Dungeon Alchemist and was trying to reveal it to them piece by piece. I basically zoomed in as much as possible to almost make it 1st Person, then opened doors and walked about the house, but a Fog setting could make reveals even more dramatic.

Please implement this feat. DA is really great and we love to use it for our sessions but the missing fog of war is a real bummer. All work-arounds via uvvt export etc. are annoying and aer always cutting some of the beautiful details of our DA maps. Thus we are currently placing black covers over not discovered areas but this is really not up to the standard of DA…
Thus, please integrate it. I think, this should not be to complicated (although I admit I don`t know).

Be mindful of scope creep but,
I come from Talespire and we’ve been asking this for YEARS. I fear they will sadly never deliver. I just bought this game and you actually have a better platform for when it comes to building quick 3d maps. I feel like you are so close to being able to deliver a full 3d VTT experience right within the game.
Whatever you decide to do, what you already have is really great!

I would go further - all I want it to be able to sit down, walk my party through here myself with fog of war, and thats literally IT for in person D&D! No need for nasty uploading to 2D, hosting, etc. I would pay for this on the spot!

This is actually hard to do i think because your OS (windows or alike) appoints the game to a certain monitor. There is another app that can do this by running it via multiple browser windows, an App/game like DA is harder to configure i imagine. Maby an mobile application that lets u run things as GM that connects via wifi could work. But i think this could be too big a project for the developer.. however if so and it does become compatible with phones/tablets… i think they will have the entire market in their pocket because then you would have best of both worlds. to fund this project they could just charge people money for the phone/tablet app.

also if i play with 4 other guys/gals at the table and they want to be GM the would need the app aswell. resulting in probably at least 2x the sales as the desktop app.

I hope you guys consider a traditional “fog of war”. You’ve invested all this time and effort in creating beautiful animations for doors, fire, magic items, fog and more - it would be awesome to be able to connect my laptop to a screen laying flat on the table and run a session using DA as my main app for displaying the map. All I’d need is some way to hide and reveal portions of the map with some black fog by painting and erasing it. It would be amazing to not have to export maps to a third party app, re-import them, overlay animations, etc… plus then, the maps would actually be delivered in their beautiful interactive splendor - rather than a rasterized semi-static version.
