Display map in a separate monitor for players and livestreaming
This feature allows you to open a second window displaying the map without any of the editing UI and dragging it to a second monitor. This would let you play your maps directly in Dungeon Alchemist in scenarios where the players are playing on a table with a built-in display or screensharing, as the DM would be able to edit the map in real-time on their screen and project the results to a separate window specifically meant for players.
Optionally, could go a step further and also allow for a third window, where maybe you could have a POV or cinematic camera view that would follow behind the players.
As an example, here’s my planned use case:
My setup involves a table with a built-in display, my laptop behind the DM screen and a projector pointing at a white wall where I typically have an ambience video playing, representing the general area my players are in.
With this feature, I could:
Have Dungeon Alchemist running on my laptop with all the editing UI as we all currently know it, allowing me to edit the map in real-time (adding animated fire if someone sets something ablaze, moving tokens directly in Dungeon Alchemist, pan around the map as my players traverse through it, etc);
Have the second window on my table’s built-in display showing the map without any of the editing UI, meant specifically for the players to see where they are. Everything else still shows normally, such as animated effects/landscape, tokens, etc. As I edit the map on my laptop, the map on this second window updates accordingly or alternatively, we could have an option to only update the map shown to players once the DM hits an ‘Apply Changes’ button on his end;
Have the third window on my projector, where I could toggle a POV/Cinematic Camera that I’d control to follow the characters and show them a more immersive view of the areas and battles around them (so there’s not exclusively a top-down view, this is really just for flavor);
Of course, these extra windows could be used for other purposes but these are just what I would like to use them for.
Each window could have its own View Mode (Free-Camera 3D, Ortographic, Top-Down with 3D) and its own Fog of War toggle (as I saw this is a planned feature). This facilitates the DM editing the map using the Free-Camera mode, while the players still only see a top-down view during that process.
This feature would also be great for livestreaming, as you could set different sources on OBS for each of the windows and switch between showing the top-down map and a free-camera, providing a more cinematic viewing experience.
Would absolutely love seeing something like this and I think it’d bring more versatility to how DMs could use Dungeon Alchemist!

To allow us to send a display of the map to an alternate screen for the players, where the DM can use new features like Fog of War, and othere things secretly from their screen so they do not spoil things for the players.
It would be great to be able to have a player display on a second monitor, for in person play. This would allow the dm to make modifications or generate maps on the fly, and allow the players to view the changes in real time.
A separate window that can be displayed on a secondary monitor for in person gaming sessions. This would allow the DM to manipulate room or objects on their screen and the players could see them on the secondary screen (tabletop). The rooms and/or traps could have a player visibility toggle, until a "Fog of War" function is developed. Or create passages and rooms on the fly.
No need for a complete VTT, just add a 2nd screen with Fog if war. A lot of US are using tvs on tables to play, and right now it's a pain to set up foundry. Adding a simple 2nd screen option with Fog of war on that screen, and a transparent fog of war on the main screen for DMs would be great for the majority of DnD players who don't want to invest time and money into foundry.
The ability to project a 2nd window of Dungeon Alchemist that can be scaled/manipulated on a second monitor/connected TV screen. Depending on monitor resolution, such a mode would require resizing the player view (zoom in/zoom out) to match the 1-inch grid.
It is possible that a suggestion like this already exists, but I would still like to share it in case it can be useful.
First of all, thank you for the excellent work you are doing with Dungeon Alchemist. It’s a tool I use frequently to prepare my sessions, and it is incredibly useful and inspiring.
I would like to share an idea that could bring additional value to those of us who use Dungeon Alchemist during in-person or hybrid sessions. The proposal is to integrate a feature that allows projecting the generated map onto a second screen, similar to how Arkenforge works. This would help avoid the exporting process and allow real-time adjustments during the session.
Some characteristics that would be especially useful within this feature include:
Projection of the map onto a second screen without the grid or canvas accidentally moving.
Player mode, with tools such as:
Fog of war
Notifications or markers
Independent grid scaling on the player screen.
Camera/view lock on the player screen to prevent unwanted panning.
I believe that such a feature would make Dungeon Alchemist an even more complete tool for Dungeon Masters and session facilitators, especially for those who want to use the software directly during live games.
Thank you for your time and for considering this suggestion. If you need additional details or would like feedback from a user’s perspective, I would be happy to help.

Feature suggestion: second-screen projection mode
Dear Dungeon Alchemist team,
It is possible that a suggestion like this already exists, but I would still like to share it in case it can be useful.
